The fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) market in July 2025 clearly shows that the islands and Crete continue to outperform compared to mainland Greece, according to Circana's July Market View. Despite the fluctuations of the past two years, tourist destinations remain the main growth driver. In monthly developments, island destinations stood out: in May 2025 they reached growth rates above +15%, while in July they maintained double-digit levels, when the mainland moved around +5%. Crete moves at more moderate rates, but consistently higher than the mainland, with peaks between +8% and +12% during the second quarter of the year. Regarding market contribution, summer 2025 finds mainland Greece covering 81.1% of value, the islands 10.9%, and Crete 8%. Despite their smaller share, the islands' contribution is multiple times their proportion, as their growth rates consistently exceed the average. The July 2025 picture confirms that tourism continues to determine the course of FMCG in Greece.
