Accordingly, a significant decrease of 1.7 billion euros, i.e. by 19%, was recorded in the trade deficit.
However, despite the overall positive picture, it is worth pointing out that the growth rate of exports is decreasing, according to SEVE, as from 30.2% in January 2023 and 19.9% in February 2023, in March 2023 it rose to 5, 7%. It should be noted that the value of Greek exports in March 2023 amounted to 4,800.8 million euros compared to 4,540.3 million euros in the corresponding month of 2022, with the increase amounting to 260.5 million euros, i.e. +5 .7%. The value of imports registered a small increase and from 20,554.2 million euros last year it reached 20,933.9 million euros this year (397.7 million euros, i.e. 1.8%), while the trade deficit decreased by 19.0% , i.e. 1,693.4 million euros and amounted to 7,220.6 million euros.
It is noted that exports of food (256.9 million euros, i.e. 15.8%), fats and oils (389.5 million euros, i.e. 181.9%) and beverages and tobacco (70 million euros) recorded an upward trend , i.e. 30.2%), among other categories.
